I shade a 2 stroke used moter it has one ring broke the motor not scratched don't know. If it runs can I pull the broking one out and see if motor runs to see if it worth fixing
 
Might help to know what motor you are refering to? Edit my bad just read the title. I do wanna say don't run a motor on a broken ring at all. That is a bunch of shrapnel coming from that cyclinder bore.

Dunno what your mechanical skills are? From your description it has been apart already no?

biggest problem is finding out if any broken pieces are still inside somewhere

next problem is to find out why the ring broke

these engines are fairly robust as far as tolerances go, so if all else is good, I'd try it with the good ring on top (but would rather put in another ring for the test)
