So my rear axle broke on me yesterday on my ride home from work! I forgot to pull clutch lever before MASHING on the coaster break, wheel wanted to lock up but the wheel was still under power due to me not remembering to pull in the clutch!! So I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend!!
Lesson learned.

Well, I discovered the axle is not broken. The coaster break arm got all twisted up and I think the "teeth" inside the hub that acuate the break may be striped out. After replacing the break arm and puting the wheel back on I went for a test ride. Here's the problem, when I try to pedal the bike it feels like the sproket is engaging and then slipping, making pedaling the bike impossible. My question, is the wheel fixable or is it toast?

If you remove it from ther bike and dissassemble it, you will see what's toast and what's salvageable. I bet you can fix it as fast as you could buy a new one, and save yourself the hassle of changing the sprocket, ect.
