brake & speedo for The Black Ox

I need a suggestion for front brake and a speedo for the Onyx bike. On other builds I have used the "Old School" cable drive speedo but the 29 inch wheels and drive fit on the forks on the Ox are a problem. I can use a bike computer but am concerned about electrical interference from the CDI.
I need a front brake are they any suggestions that do not require a fork change? A simple side pull front brake? Are the painted rims a problem?

I'm using a bike computer on mine with no issues.

I also added front caliper brakes with my painted rims. The area where the pads rub is now black, but it's worth the trade-off for safer stopping.

The only issue that you may run into is finding a caliper that will work with the 29" wheel. The caliper I used is adjusted all the way out for the 26" wheel that I have.
