Bicycle engine chain question

I was wondering if i can hook the chain up to the bicycles rear sprocket not the sprocket thing that comes with kit.

Without a jackshaft and extra reduction, you'll end up with something that goes like 25MPH at idle with a 14T rear sprocket.

That wouldn't accelerate very well at all. Hence, NO, it won't work without a jackshaft of some sort.

At the very least, you'd need something like this: http://www.sickbikeparts.com/catalog/

In fact, it won't accelerate at all.
You are going to have to reduce the engine speed by mounting a very small sprocket on the shaft, and driving a larger sprocket on a driven shaft (jackshaft) that has a small sprocket on the other end, which in turn will drive the rear wheel sprocket. I'm not sure you can do this without the first driven sprocket being very large so you get enough reduction in the final drive.

You won't need an expensive shift kit, but you will need a double reduction with a jackshaft.

You'll also need a freewheel on the pedal crank or be prepared to pedal very very fast.
