Bent clutch arm

I see some of you have a bent clutch arm. Are these being bent at home or are they bent from the manufacturer?

This bent arm came on my Grubee GT5A:

It is longer and has more mechanical advantage than the short lever on my other motor. Interesting fact is that the sprocket covers will not interchange between these two 66cc motors. Different bolt patterns.

Arrrr, me'n me fancy boots. What's in me coffee???
Is that a pine beetle?

Thanks for the info guys. I figured the metal was not bend friendly, but I had to check.

The older kits came with straight arms. I used to bend them for a better line up of the cable.

Helps stop cable breakage, gets it out of the way of your pantleg, and gives a better feel at the levee (easier pull.)

If you have a straight one, you can clamp it in a vice, put a pipe over the end, and easily bend it. It's soft metal and bends like butter.

Thanks, Bairdco, that's exactly why I want to bend it. I was afraid that it might just snap. I don't need much of a bend so will be careful anyway.

cheers
