be wary of huffy fresno

just had a customer with a huffy fresno - tried to put on rear sprocket and the anchor ring for the spokes was so big that the bolts of the rag joint wouldn't fit past it

I looked around & found an older slotted-hole sprocket that comes with a larger rubber mounting pad & it went on OK.

If I need to do another, I may have to cut notches into the wheel to get the bolts thru, as newer sprockets have smaller rubber mounting pads.

Maybe, just maybe Huffy upgraded the internals...............nah, sure that's not it.......

spokes are really fat, but shorter due to taller anchor ring (maybe they're trying to use 24" spokes on them)

Or Pacific Bicycle got a great deal on some non-standard hubs.

But who in their right mind would manufacture such a thing?

Maybe the Huffy people are afraid of the 'non-mechanically inclined' putting a 2 stroke engine on their bikes. Makes you wonder if someone sued them..........

I suspect that on the china end, everyone is a business man that has no clue as to what is actually being produced.
