Tonight/ Last night now, me and a friend were hanging out cooking some burgers welding up some bike parts ( me a set of handlebars, he a custom exhaust pipe) and the pipe he made was way to loud and didn't have any real back pressure.

While I was lighting the grill it dawned on me to try using burn tubes in a barbeque for a baffle. (The stainless steel tube the propane travels through to make the flame in the cooking area.)

It's made for prolonged exposure to heat, a lot of them are the right inner diameter to fit over the end of the pipe AND It sounded good and saw a slight increase in performance.

We just drilled all the little holes out to increase the flow and cut the crimped end of ... Ànd it just needs a couple small welds and it's done

I will try and post picture of it... It's hella cool.

Back pressure is totally overrated on these little engines... You can easily make a straight pipe run like a champ with a proper jet.

Noise however is a different issue!
It's easy to just drill a few holes in the end cap of a stock muffler & get decent flow & still have reasonable noise reduction. (^)

Nahhhh... I just took them out of my neighbors barbecue... Boy, won't he be surprised!!!

I'm kidding. They had a mass curbside clean up thing going on in my city so there were lots and lots of barbecues so I grabbed a few of all shapes and sizes...

And as always you are correct Norm, he is having a **** of a time trying to find all the right diameters and lengths of pipe to get it right. I tried to show .him the instructions and formulas I found on the topic but he's more into " figuring out himself"

Sooo good luck to him!!!
