Aussie take on an old classic.

Well I think it is time I put an update on my project.
I'm trying to get a classic boardtrack look using mostly cast of bicycle bits and a small engine.
At the moment I'm working through the springer front end and fuel tank designs.

Cheers

Well thought I should add a few build pictures so everyone can see how the bike has been progressing.
I started with a dual suspension bike that a mate threw out, then added a few pieces from other bikes that were laying around.
Still need to address a few bits that I'm not quite happy with.
Though saying that it's coming along quite well.
Cheers

Tank is still in the planning stages, though the most probably it will be fabricated out of sheetmetal.
I'm still deciding whether to keep the cable guides under the top frame rail, space the tank and/or make a channel for the rear cables; or cut them off entirely and run the cables through the frame like I did with my chopper.
The hardest part is making all this with hand tools and a hobby mig.

Here is tank 2, with frame modified to clear end of tank and neaten up the seatpost.
Yep a tube bender is on my Christmas list : )

Here is the latest version of the fuel tank (cardboard and safety yellow paint). Had to do a fair bit of simplifying so I can make it out of sheet easily.

This weekends work on the bike has been to finish of the frame welding and make the handlebars.
All the joints have been sleeved and plug welded, not light but strong ... and the right shape.
