Almost Walked Home

I took my bike out for the first real ride ( 6 miles) with the new 67cc engine. Halfway back I started hearing thunk, thunk, thunk. I looked down to see my chain tensioner jumping up and down. So, I stopped to examine the bike and found that a bolt had backed out of the clamshell sprocket adapter (I forgot to locktite it) I also found that my chain had been rubbing the rear tire pretty bad. Having no tools with me, I just limped the bike home slowly. When I got home I found that another bolt had also backed out, I guess caused by the vibration of the first one thunking on the brake arm. The loose bolts had worn a groove in my brake arm! So I guess the moral to this story is " Listen when people say to locktite ALL bolts" and, it is not alright for the chain to rub the tire. (Yeah, I know, DUH)

Ouch!! I've found that a bike multitool works great in those situations. Can usually get it back together to get home. Ive had to use mine a few times.
