Hey guys. today i got pulled over just down the road from my house.
The copper wasent to sure about the bike.
I told him it was under 50cc. he responded with " what does that mean?" ahah

He called up traffic control and they said it alright because under 50cc.

So to all u Queenslanders have fun rideing. ur not actully breaking the law.
.rd.

queensland transport website tells me any bicycle with a petrol or deisel combustion engine (regardless of size)cant be ridden on roads or in public places as it is illegal unless it complies with australian design rules.

yer geoff that wat i thought aswell.
Oh well the cops know best :P

hey ovlava yer mines a 80 but i just said its 48.
as if they can tell the difference.

qld law will allow ac/dc bikes up to 200w.
what i did was got on ebay & bought this sticker.
havent been pulled up yet but havent seen cops while riding either.
will have to wait & see i suppose.
I live on the gold coast.
Tried to upload the pic but wouldnt work.
It says pedal assist max 200w output stuck on the side of the motor.

yer i did know the laws. i was just waiting for the traffic cop to say that.

Now i got the go ahead im rideing anywhere main roads not just back streets.

I saw a cop Once on my mb, he laughed at me and waved me on, I think he was after trail bikers as i mostly use a disused railway track ( herritage trail )

Geoffmaree--Thought we were hard done by here in British Columbia. We at least get
500W but it can only be a hub motor since you can't run the motor through the bike gears.
Going to buy one put together by a local E-bike shop. They can sell me one cheaper than I can put one together myself. They cost $1250 CDN.500W/36V Canadian made frame.
We have some pretty impressive hills around us so they build it with that motor and voltage.
There is a chap on Vancouver Island who is building an E-bike but it will be a couple of months be for it is available. He wants to test the heck out of them first.
Like your sticker idea.My luck is that copper would be a retired electrical engineer.
Steve.
