As far as the china motor bike, I have ported cly, duel plug head, large carb, modified piston, expansion chamber exhaust. cross shaft kit to use the 5 speed of the bike, runs very well, could probably get buy with out the shift kit, thought I like to able to control the rpm at road speed.

Okay, I was thinking of putting a shift kit on my bike but I think I've changed my mind, I decided to get a reed valve instead.

My china motor is highly modified, ported large bore cylinder, racing piston, high stress piston pin baring, and high comp, head, expansion exhaust system, racing carb, high output ing. system etc. with that in mind it has a lot of power to pull the bike, as before the shift kit is to keep the rpm low. so I don't have over rev the motor
reed vales are for high rpm power. long inlet manifold is for low end. there is a site on building 2 cycle motors:

That sounds like a nice setup! I had a shift kit. It was nice but I wasn't impressed with it. And it destroyed every axle I put under it while being gentle on my shifting
