50 MPH trike (that does 48, snork)

Shoes, was just sitting here looking at pic thinking the same thing. I have an old wheel chair below and would love to do this one. Any ideas on beefing up the carriage? Am thinking heavy steel L beams. Hmmmmm that a thought! make a floor like a scooter!

(Great, another crazy want/project. does it ever end?)
 
I can buy shopping carts at the store nearby here for 15 dollars each. They are the red plastic ones.
 
I don't know... Depending on the chair they are already pretty beefy. I used to work at a group home for adults with DD and there was a lady who had a beefy chair made to support 500lbs....

Steel L beams would beef it up.

You'd hav to do something with the bearings I think, They aren't exactly made to do 50mph lol

I saw a wheelchair on youtube that had a 4 sroke, beefy off road tires and would do 30mph, it was awesome.
 
If I had 30mph wheel chair, the first place I'd take it is to WalMart! I'd put on those phony coke-bottle glasses, look like I'm lost, and rip around the place! laff
 
I like that design on the first post but I would change it by bringing the steering head and everything closer so you can use BMX style handlebars for better handling and you can still have room for your feet. It's brilliant how he used every moving part of that minibike/whatever so gearing is not a question.
