Been using motors with 40mm intakes for a while now. Have them with aluminum intakes, but ordered some steel ones for spares. I'm finding that on a tight frame build, the carb often won't fit in the frame.

I've found some steel intakes that give about an inch of extra room when needed.

I also found some cast aluminum that appear to be short. Make that rough cast... ;)

Of course, you could always go dual carbs.

steel onesnot same - says 32mm right on the ad

aluminum ones appear to be the long ones that come with the motors

the short, steel 40mm ones have a small round opening at the mounting point
