4 stroke Hau Shang engine

Hi everyone. I have a new spooky Tooth bike. After months of trying to get it running I succeeded today. However I cannot get it to idol. It constantly speeds up and slows down. I do not think it is an air leak because everything is very tight. Could it be a valve adjustment?

Thanks,
Randiman

Hey Randiman Welcome to the forum

I doubt it needs a valve adjustment, I have seen a few that just wont idle. As far as I know they just got a replacement. Hopefully someone who has more experience with those motors can help you out.

There is an idler jet below the idle screw. It is a plastic thing that fits into the carb.

Take out the idle screw and ease up the idle jet with a screwdriver.

Look at it and see if the o-rings are in place. Sometimes they get mashed.

If it doesn't look good, get another idle jet.

Hi Skyl4rk,

Thank you very much for your help. I thought that rubber was just a plug. I will try what you said tomorrow.

Thanks again,
Randiman

Hi Dave 31,

Thanks for your help. I have been fighting this engine for a long time. If I don't get some where soon I am going to request a new engine.

Thanks for your help.

Cordially
Randiman
