Just my opinion, but when it comes to motorized bicycles, there is no such thing as an easy fix.

That being said, a smaller spacer will certainly help with your clearance problems, but I'd wait until you have the kit in hand before you go messing with the chainline. I've learned from my builds that it is cheaper to have everything on hand so you can "soft fit" everything before a full install. If you purchase anything online, this will allow you to return the product if it doesn't work for you.

Definitely remove the front fender. Cutting it will only weaken the already weak structure in the fender, which could easily cause severe injury or death. I only use fenders when I have disc brakes, because the disc brake specific fenders bolt right into the brake mount. It gets trickier with suspension.

I get where you're coming from with wanting a clean look. It is difficult to achieve that when you have 4 or 5 cables comin off your bars and runnin down your frame. However, I personally believe my build is approaching that "clean" look, all I need is some shrink tubing on the cables to tie it all into the wiring loom, a new rack for my battery, and some sheet metal so I can make an engine shroud and hide all the hardware.
