There's a new kid in town, the Bigniu BGX, and it's causing a sensation

It been years since I bought a new bike, mainly because none of the ones available really did anything for me. That changed a few days ago when I found out about the Bigniu BGX. I ordered on Thursday, and it's supposed to arrive Sunday. When you see the specs on this bike you're going to want to kick your bike.

With its 1500wh battery (48v*31.5ah=1500) and higher weight/wheelbase than average ebikes resulting in a probable 30wh/mi mileage it goes about 50 miles on a charge.

The factory says about 40 miles. Based on my experience that sounds reasonable. I joined the BGX owners group on FB, and owners say the customer service is excellent. The factory website is Bigniubike.com

Yeah that’s a pretty cool bike compared to typical e-bikes in its class, which are slower with smaller batteries. This one looks really comfy with the bars a good height above the seat, large cruiser seat, and full suspension. Can run 16 inch motorcycle tires on those rims too. It looks like a good starter platform for modifying. Already comes with full suspension, good geometry, disc brakes, spacious frame. With some power mods could match and exceed performance of many 212 builds. Hah, or even 212 swap…

Here it is, this ones mine. I got like 15 miles on it already. It handles like a truck, but it's probably one of the fastest eBikes in 2024, at least compared to normie eBikes. Not quickest, just fastest. This has got too be the most underrated eBike of all time. I'm too tired right now to go into the details, but it's pretty remarkable. No one knows about this bike. It'll do over 40 mph on flat ground. It's got a lot of gear whine doing it, but it's not louder then a SurRon. Welcome to metal clad gears.

I found out the BGX is made in the Mangosteen factory in China, which is the same factory that makes Eahora eBikes

I was digging through the empty boxes to see if I missed anything, and I found this cool fly screen. These guys think of everything.

These tires are basically the same size as a Harley Electro Glide in the 60s and 70s which were 16 x 5. The difference is these wheels and tires are light as a feather compared to a Harley.

Last night I went on my first long ride of 26 miles. Keeping my speed between 20 and 30 mph and using only the throttle I had 2 bars left when I got home. I estimate from this 40 mile total range on 100% charge, but a practical range of about 30 miles at those speeds. Range could be extended by going slower, but that's pretty hard for me to do when riding alone.
