Engine dies after about a mile of riding

Been riding for about 2 years now, have had 4 motors. I've run into just about every problem you can think of but this one has me a little baffled. I just got a new 100cc engine kit. I think it's an 80cc with a bigger head but it was marketed as a 100cc. Either way. Everything is stock. The problem is. Starts up runs good for about a mile or 2 then the rpm drop and it rattles and dies. Felt the rpms dropping yesterday so I squeezed the clutch and gave it some throttle but the rattling just got louder until I had to kill it. Then I just sit there for about 30-60 second and it starts back up and is fine for another mile or so. I've cleaned the fuel petcock. Replaced the fuel line. Lowered the clip on the carb jet a notch to get a richer mix. I'm running at 20-1 for break-in. What else should I try?

Few more things I noticed this morning. The rattle sounds more like a clicking buzz than just a rattle. The jet nozzle (think that's what it's called, the gold thing on the carb the fuel line connects to) was pretty lose. Also I can't seem to tighten the spark plug enough. Gas seeps through when I'm riding. Only noticed because when I stop it smokes because oil burning off..

Thermal expansion head compression leak - buzz click noise
What do ya mean you can't seem to get the S/P tight enough?
S/P tight is 1/8th of a turn after hand tight.
Are the threads in the head striped? (pulled)

How would I fix the compression leak? Tighten the head bolts?
S/P threads not stripped, when they drilled the hole for it they left allot of material around the top of the hole so I don't think it's sitting flush. Gonna try and grind off the excess to make it sit right.
