Having just greased my bearings on my crankset just over a month ago I was shocked to see the red rusty goo that was in there today when I had it all apart. It's as if the rain and salt got in there.
I drilled a hole in the bottom of the frame and wound a grease nipple into place. Now when I grease it with a gun, it will force the grease onto the bearings instead of the grease just sitting in the centre where is does nothing.
My rear wheel will be next.
