If you are looking to upgrade a engine and have fun doing it get the 2stroke kit. Dont buy one from bikeberry they tend to have bent connecting rods.

There are many things u can and need to do to these engines to make/let them perform at optimal performance.

You can start by breaking in the engine dont be hard on it for a couple tanks of gas. Unfortunetly the cylinderwalls score easy and get damaged easy, not a big deal because a new cylinder is 24 bux piston and rings are 14 bux.

After you break in your motor and are getting a feel for what its like and all that jaz then you may conciter looking for performance. If you are handy you may want to look into porting the cylinder as they are pretty rough. There is a big veriaty of performance cylinder heads, the stock head does not keep the engine cool. Look into a "fred head"

You can get a different carburettor. Dont waste your time with the CNS carb its junk look into dellorto clones.

You can get a expansion chamber exhaust from sickbikeparts.com or many other sites thats a must have.

Different size sprockets for torque or speed

You can upgrade your cdi to HD lightning or a jaguar

You can buy a shift kit for mtn bikes at sickbikeparts and shift like a motorcycle.

There are endless things to do to improve everything. A lot of machineist make custom parts such as sprocket adapters, billet heads, chain tensioners, clutch covers an more.

Do your research on google, any question you have there is a pretty good chance its been answered in a previouse thread.

If your looking to build a monster you will end up shelling out hundreds like my self and a lot of other members on this forum lol

If you look on the left and right of this forum page there are advertisements for 90% of the motorized bicycle stores.

Welcome aboard.

Now I'm gonna be kind of a drag. Sorry.

I wouldn't recommend upping the performance of what is, after all, just a bicycle. They're just not meant for that and it's likely to be unsafe. If you want to go above, say, 20 mph then this is the wrong kinda vehicle.

There'll be those who disagree with me. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck and have fun.

Basically every 2 stroke kit is the same. Get a 66cc they claim its 80cc but as far as parts go there all identical qfrom eachother. Some engines have 38mm stroke other are 40mm. Be cautiouse when you buy a new piston down the road because there are 2 different kinds for the 66cc. One with the wrist pin hole in the center of the piston and one down lower. Basically you shouldnt spend more than 160 shipped for a kit. Any more and your just getting ripped off.

I strongly recommend taking the head off take the cylinder off and lubercate the cylinder wall and the conmecting rod bearings with raw 2 stroke pre mix so there is no dry start.

I was thinking of doing a motor flush using WD-40 to remove any debris that may of been left inside the motor during assembly by removing the head than re-lubing like you mentioned, is a certain bolt sequence and torque needed for reassembly?

Alternate side to side, front to back when tightening. Use a 'X' pattern. Use a torque wrench. 120 to 140 inch pounds on the cylinder head fasteners. DO NOT EXCEED 150 IP.

After a couple of heat/cool cycles check the torque again and again after a few miles. No need to 'see a turn' on the nuts. Just assure they are still at the the torque value you set them to originally.

Great.... The torque I use reads in pounds...converting it to inch's it should be 120 IP = 10LBs.... 140 IP = 11.6 LBs......Max at 150IP = 12.5 LBs...
