Oversized tube... But can't cut steel

Hello,

I went through the entire thread above but didn't find a mounting technique that I would be able to actually use.

I'm unable to cut steel and can't make my own plate.
I also would prefer not to buy that plate online for 15bucks because that seems sort of silly.
I also cannot weld

I'm looking to get some things from home depot and toss them together? Is this plausible?

plausible, yes. possible? yes.

functional? ya never know until you try.

but...

if you're worried about spending 15 bucks for a tried and true method where all the thinking's been done for you, how much do you think you'll spend at home depot?

i know i've spent small fortunes on projects that didn't work out the way i'd hoped.

good luck...:)

If you don't have tools it's hard to beat this Sick Bike Parts mount.

im not 100% sure what you mean.

if im sitting on the seat and looking down at this downtube, my eyes will see that it is 2 and a quarter inch wide.

if im off the bike looking at it from the side and made the downtube parallel to the floor, i would see it as being 2 inches high.

making this an oval shaped downtube
