I am thinking of making an All in One Electrical kit for these bikes
it will include the following
1. CDI + retard (on/off) and variable retard ajustments on the fly
1a. Spark strength variability ( can make hard to start bikes easier to start then turn back to normal once started)
2. Ignition coil
3. AC>DC converter
4. Voltage regulator
5. ( maybe a USB out for mp3 players or battery chargers )
this means you will have a racing cdi and good spark capability all through the rev range and retard for those steep hills where you don't want to over-rev the engine and yet also want to keep it lubricated
Another thing is that yes you will be able to use the "white wire" for your 5v to 7v Electric lights. or even a battery charger to keep a spare set of batteries charged for your existing battery operated light. I may even include a USB out port to power Ipods and other MP3 players.
Cost though will be far from cheap. a quick tally of materials is $118 AUD for all the above. and i would sell these for $140 - $150 ( It has taken some time to figure out the giant schematic for all this, and it takes a lot of time to put one of these together.)
I'll have a working prototype in 2-3 weeks max. I want to gauge interest to see if i should buy X amount of each part in each order.... and shipping to Sydney from electronic distribs is slowwwwww.....
