anyone know of an adapter or sprocket that would allow using a disk wheel where a standard wheel would go. the sprocket needs to be set in closer to the spokes to allow chain alignment. maby a dished sprocket with bolt pattern for disk hub. I love this forum

I had a talk with Karen today on the phone asked where my order was,she said they just got a new batch of metal in today and said they've never made ANY but ONE motor mount.Last week I was told they just sent out a bunch of motor mounts to customers. Now its a whole different story! It has been 4 1/2 months or so and still haven't received the damn thing not only that but as a paying customer I was lied to many times.

Jim,I need to know if you's plan to make my order and have it shipped.I'd appreciate a response as soon as you see this.

Aaron,

Karen talked to your mom today. We've actually made over 50 motor mounts. We have made 20+ for local customers, and shipped 30. Some of them cracked! We had a problem with the sheet material that is used for the pan. The material I recieved originally was too brittle.

Your mom told Karen that your engine fell off...I feel your frustration, but I didn't make it fall off. :-||

We have more material in stock, and I will be bending new pans in the next day or so.

I have gone to a great expense to produce these. It's my call when to decide that the product is right, and ship them. Failed parts are always far worse than late shipments as far as reputation is concerned. If I ship a motor mount and it breaks i'll never hear the end of it!!!

As I've said before, if you've run out of patience, I will gladly issue you a refund.

I hope you do get it soon but don't hold your breath. I made, and payed, for this order back on the 2nd of Nov.

Description Unit price Qty Amount
Engine Mount
Item# EM-100 , Seat Tube Diameter: 1.41" round , Front tube Diameter: 1.5" max trioval $32.00 USD 1 $32.00 USD
Sprocket
Item# SP-100 , Price Options: Without the purchase of a Sprocket Adapter , Size: 44T $22.00 USD 1 $22.00 USD
Intake Manifold
Item# IM-100 $14.25 USD 1 $14.25 USD
Subtotal $68.25 USD
Shipping and handling $18.40 USD
Total $86.65 USD

I got the manifold about a month after the order and the sprocket about 2 weeks ago, still waiting on the mount though. I was able to get the wife on the phone (after 6 tries) a few days before the sprocket got here and she assured me that they were, at that very minute, on the way to ship everything. To say that I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

The last I read, there was a problem with the engine mounts. Something to do with the material.

I know Jim will refund your money, no hassle if you request it.

I don't know the man, but one advantage to being old is you meet all types. Some good, some bad, some honest and others not so much. Then there are the types who are both gifted and excessive compulsive. Those are the ones I always wanted to be like.

There is only so much one man can do. I chose to wait for what ever time it took to get what no one else can produce or is willing to?

The sprocket and adapter turned a hokie attempt into something to have confidence in and be proud to own and ride.

Take three deep breaths and let then out slowly. Life is to short to live it in stress. 8O) =

I want one and I'll wait as long as it takes! Quality takes time and a small shop is overwhelmed especially when things are going well. The only other options are rag joints or Jackshaft kits!

Steve,

Hey fellow motorbike member, I can understand that u might be fustrated. From a shop that had planned on closing in November, Jim and Karen are doing everything they can for there customers. I have never met either of them, just spoke to them on the phone like yourself. Like yourself I have ordered the gasket, and intake manifold. I ordered the sproket adapter on Oct 15, 2009 and I ordered the mounting plate on Oct 16 a day later. I originally got my sprocket adapter around a mid Nov or in Dec. I ran into a fitment issue, not at all there fault. But with no fuss or hesitation they sent me a replacement. All of the peices Jim and Karen have made for me have been way better than I excpected. To impress me it takes a lot Steve, and like you I haven't received my motor adapter. I was watching his page daily for the release of there motor mount. Trust me I want it just as bad as you man, it's the only thing holding me up from being complete. But I know when we finally get our parts we will be happy with them Steve. When the fustration get's to you just try to remember, it's 2 people putting out quality parts for a lot of demanding customers. It's the customer that get there stuff and realize for the quality, it was worth the wait.

.flg.This message was in no way sent to bash your fustration Steve. I just wanted to let you know everyone is waiting for there parts along with. I have been putting my project together since Feb '09 and so close to being done, its a mid 70's Sears and Robuck. What kind of project are you working on?

Hey all, manic mechanic is one very special group. Talked to both of them several times... they came through every time. They are the dying breed. I pray for them every day. In midst of low quality, cheap crap this country is fascinated with... They ... choose the less traveled and not so profitable road. They make people happy all around the globe. Period.

Hello guys,

On November 15, we will be closing shop for good. :(

We have not had any commercial work for a bit over a year. I have been keeping the shop open with my savings.

Karen and I thank all of you who have supported our efforts.

We have talked to so many really nice people over the past year and a half. I don't want to quit, but I can't afford a 20K per year hobby shop.

Final orders will be accepted until November 2 for The sprocket adapters and sprockets only.

Jim

Hi,

I just ordered my sprocket with adapter and and intake manifold, I didn't know you closed shop cause your website is still accepting orders and payments. Will I be able to get my orders or will you just refund my payment. I'm really hoping you can still send me the products.

Thanks!

Gerry
