The $499 price was raised today to $599 which dropped the sales from almost 1000 a day to about 40 a day but the big news was that all the buyers will get a free McDonald's happy meall toy with their Storm ebike! :D
I know what you mean. They only took in $72,000 today. That's only a fraction of what they were getting before they raised the prices.

I've got to confess, I'm starting to rethink my position. All the naysayers were probably right. I don't know why I didn't realize this before. Think about where these guys live. On the West coast. That means there's about a 95% chance they're the worst kind of crooks. Democrats. :rolleyes:

And on top that, they only sold 36 bikes today. **** if I only sold 36 bikes today I'd shoot myself. Where's my gun?

I know what you're saying, but they've already accomplished a lot more than that. A no name beach bum has set the eBike world on fire. Volcanos are erupting all over the world. People the world over are ordering these bikes by the thousands. There's never been anything like this in history.

This is like the movie 300. A little company of men is hand a million man corporate army their as$.

We have definitely been deceived, but so far it's not Storm Sondors, it's by the corporate dirt bags that said a cheap eBike couldn't be built and sold. Not by them anyway.

I think it's not that far off the mark to say that a Storm eBike could become considered the china girl of ebikes.

Even though it's a factory bike, it's being assembled in china with all off the shelf parts. Very similar to any local china girl builder. Only difference is they're making 5 million of them. It's the lowest or one of the lowest costing of all ebikes.

I have a feeling a lot of old people are buying them, just like china girls. I talked to a 90 year old guy on fb from san fran that bought one.

Old people are looking for low cost, and don't care how slow it is.

Cool, thanks for posting that biknut :)

The point you make about this being an electric China Girl for the masses is a good one biknut. Not everyone has the confidence to put together a working ebike and up until now the off the shelf offerings have been far too expensive. My daughter's ebike spends most of its time decorating the lounge while she does esoteric things to the controller and the wiring. She knows what she's doing and she's having fun.
As for myself my ebike adventures have been purely kit based using stock parts that are intended to fit together as I can truthfully say that I know nothing about electronics. The mechanical process of fitting a kit to a bike I have no fears about however.
Most ordinary folk in the street though wouldn't know where to begin and it is for them that the Storm would have the greatest appeal. I really do hope this campaign works out because it's really going to change the way people think about ebikes and make them within reach of everyone.

The china girl of e-bikes !? LOL , pleaseee say it ain't so. I enjoyed that article. The hub motor and controller should be pretty bullet proof. China's been making them and perfecting them for years. As we all KNOW , e-bikes all come down to the battery. I'm sure them big ole tires are gonna eat some amp hours.

Storm is just killing them. This just sucked the life out his critics.

Now on the website there's an option to pay a $200 deposit instead of paying the whole $600.

We know $599 is a lot to spend at once. We are committed to being the most affordable eBike on the market. Introducing our "Easy-Pay" program where you can reserve now and pay the balance later. By reserving now for $199, we will guarantee you a price point of $699. Pay the remaining $500 balance in advance of delivery. Quantities are limited and pricing will go up as the next pricing level is reached. *Choose Storm eBike color at the end of campaign. **Shipping rates not included

Estimated delivery: May 2015

The rolling resistance of properly inflated tires on motorized bikes is effectively irrelevant, regardless of width...

Wider isn't worse;

Speed reduces rolling resistance on pavement;

There are far more profound forces to contend with;

I've been thinking the same thing.

No worries, was surprised by the extent of the results myself when I went to confirm a suspicion, after all I'd been advised by so many roadies that my ebike had the "wrong" rims & tires :p
