WTB Sprocket and adapter!

I'm looking for a smaller sprocket for a bike I'm building. The bike is a 20" chopper with the 4" wide wheel. I'm looking for a smaller sprocket than the 44t. I was told that a 26 or 27t was the way to go. I'd also like to find an adapter like Kings makes that is a clamshell and fits over the axle for the gear to bolt too rather than bolting thru the spokes. Got anything that might work, let me know.

I ordered one from Maniac Mechanic about a week and a half ago and he said it would be about 2 weeks since he was backed up.
