This must have been a mistake!

This morning (01 June 2009) as I was watching the local news before going to work they ran a Target Christmas commercial! Now do I assume that it was an error by the local station or do I count this as the first one of the 2009 season? They can't really be starting this early! My rather fragile sanity wouldn't be able to take that!

Gearing up for Christmas in July? Target hype to get people to notice?
I like their shopping carts, but not their prices.

There used to be an appliance store in Denver called Fred Schmidt"s. They always had a "Christmas in July" sale and would put up this giant inflatable Santa on the roof of their store. It was really weird to drive past it in 90 degree weather and see Santa smiling and waving. Maybe Target is using Fred's idea.
