HF Predator 212 cc motor for $99.

Predator 212 cc OHV Horizontal Shaft Gas Engine - Certified for All States Except California

Haha, certified by all states EXCEPT California. Typical. I guess the only kind of engine certified for California would be a car, but the way things are going with CARB, 10 years from now the only kind of vehicle us Californians will be allowed to own is a horse and buggy.

I have never used a 4-stroke, but it seems like a great deal!

Which way does that shaft spin?

isn't it on the pedal side?

You can mount it with the shaft on the pedal chain side if you use fricton drive like I did here.

I used a 99cc and it does an honest 40 mph.. The 212 is way too big for a daily rider to me.

scotto's built some kind of custom torque converter on pg 3 of that link- the guy's some okind of super machinist-

good luck copying that!

Scotto has a CVT. It's uhh, quite readily available and other enterprising MaBers use it. Google AGK. Not to say Scotto aint a master ofc :D

A CVT'd HF 6.5 or the Pred 212 is srs biz. Not for novice riders _at all_. You're basically bolting a powerful gokart drivetrain to a bicycle and going 50+ easy lol

Wayne Z: You have one of the coolest friction drives I ever seen. Kudos! That is a lot of engine!

Edit: I must say tho, IMHO, the HF6.5 and 212 don't belong on street-ridden MaBs unless they look like they came like that.
That takes a lot of work and respect for the power.
