hi guys,

not sure if i ever showed any of my builds on here, but this is my wifes trike that i just retro-fitted with a staton chaindrive. It had a DE kit on there before but the wife was having a hard time with the engagement/disengagement handle. The trike also has a 500 watt in chain currie type drive installed.

The 35cc R/S engine was easily pulling at around 30 mph after just a couple of few runs.

Vegas,
Nice, very nice. Have you checked some of the other 3 wheelers here? There's nothing like them for comfort and ride. You have a good example of what can be done when you have an extra wheel to deal with. Patrick has a bent that also uses a Staton and City of Angles has another one that I admire a lot. Thanks for sharing with us.

i am glad all the hard work has paid off since i got i install an air horn and a lighting system for safety later on i am adding turn and brake signals

hi guys,

I like the trike alot the electric gets up it up to speed and gives stealth when going threw junctions, then at about 12- 15 mph hit the gas and the chaindrive takes over nicely. The flags work great of the back of the trike, even though this trike is not as low down as most it really helps as regards people seeing you from a distance.

This is my wifes trike, although with the summer coming up she wont be able to ride as much because the heat does not agree with her MS. I am going to install a tinted fairing and maybe jerry rig a canopy over the top, which might give her some relief from the heat.

I had a conversion kit up to about a year ago i would have loved to have built my own but when Beth got really sick last year and had too much on my plate. I like the idea of been able to build your own rig from whichever bike you choose and pimp it out with your own personal touches.

In the meantime i have to build my own 2 wheeler back up, a gebe tanaka 33 setup, then i have to setup a quality light system to make it sort of street legal. Another build i have for the fall is to convert an old trek y26 to a cruzbike and stick a motor on that too.......but the trike will still be my favorite.....

hi the people that built my bike sells a canopy that hooks (attach) to the back of the trike their web site is usabikemotors.com whn go to their website go on your left site and hit accesories and they shouldhave a pic

thanks for the link SOA, in my thousands of hours logged surfing bits and bobs i have come across that canopy before,

the actual bike manufacturer sells a canopy but it will need to be reinforced to stay on at a decent speed, i am thinking along the lines of fiberglass (tent poles) to maybe offer a more stable cover.

Amazon.com: Semi-Rigid EZ Canopy for Recumbent Bicycles

hooked up someway at the front to the fairing and it might just work !!!!!!! OR NOT !!!!!!!
