Hi guys, new here in the electrical world, and i need some help in wiring a lighting system. what i want is a 6v system, as i am connecting a motorcycle alternator to my engine. I need some good headlights, including daytime runners, some good turn signals, and brake lights. i also want to put a radio on there, along with some frame and engine lighting. How would i go about wiring this?

12v would work much, much better for what you're going for. You'll need a 4-5 amp hour battery and a 12v generator like this:

which is insanely bright. You can run the generator off a belt going to any engine or jackshaft shaft. Or, put it on your rear tire to work as a friction generator. You also need a voltage regulator http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-A...ash=item2efb888d04:g:tlEAAOSwUKxYgYEU&vxp=mtr

to charge the battery.

That's the easiest option I've found, it fits in your V brake caliper. The other option is to wire a switch to go right under the brake lever, so when you pull it it sends current to any red light you choose.
 
I have decided on components for the light and charging system. A 12v sealed motorcycle battery, a 110A 12v alternator for a Chevy Blazer with a built in regulator, a flasher relay, a combination brake/tail/turn signal/license plate light, a turn signal and headlight switch, a spring activated brake light switch, and two hi/lo headlights with fog lights. Now, I just need to buy them, the bike, the engine, a belt, a pulley to attach to the engine, and a belt tensioner. I will also need to modify the engine a bit to do this, using a flanged rod connected to the engine fan. The rod will be modified to accept a belt pulley. This will give me total visibility, as well as allow me to connect multiple accessories as I see fit.

Got all the stuff today and am now trying to figure out a wiring arrangement.

Anyone wouldn't have one handy would they ?

Oh yeah if you do buy the lights you are definitely gonna have enough firepower to blind any oncoming traffic. You WILL burn their eyes out with both of them mounted up and blazing.

IMG_20170621_135008023.jpg Looking at my bike and trying to figure out a place to mount the generator. It ain't happening. Maybe I will mount a windmill on the back. Should get some good power from a 25 mile an hour wind. JK. Gonna go straight 12 volt with on board charger. Got the charger, battery, and cable. Just want to make it look good
 
Going out to shoot pics of the whole bike. Any ideas on where to mount the generator would be greatly appreciated.
