Hey people!

To tell you about my self, I'm a complete noob to "motorbicycling" (you'll see with the questions I'm about to ask). I live in Berkeley, California and I'm excited to be the first person that I see riding a motorbicycle (well, except electric ones). I'm going to be buying a kit from motovelo.us for my road bike (27 inch wheels)

I do have a few questions ... these are incredibly nooby... but maybe you can help me out ;)

1) With the motovelo type kits... how do you really ride it? I don't know what a clutch is... Does the clutch start the engine and you use the throttle to vary the speed? Why does the clutch lock/ whatever that feature is?

2) Are road bike brakes sufficient to stop me if I'm going 25~ mph?

Thanks!

WOW! Those kits are super expensive....look around a bit before you buy anything!

The clutch is what engages/dis-engages the engine, and yes, you just pedal until you are moving then release the clutch. Road bike brake sare fine too, heck I have built several kits with just a coaster brake.
