Shift Kit of Top Hat Adapter

Hey guys I am going to be building my first bike here soon and was wondering which way to go on the problem I have for mounting the sprocket (or not).

I want to have a shift kit but I have read they are not for beginners so I was wondering if I should go for the shift kit or the top hat adapter (I have disc hubs).

its not about your experience, its about your mechanical aptitude but you may aswell start off with the tophat adaptor and buy a chain tensioner from thats dax
