Sales on bikes, engines, etc.

Is there a certain time of year when dealers run sales on the previous years merchandise? Engines, bicycles etc. I have a 1974 schwinn speedster I have been restoring, but have decided not to motorize it. So I am looking for sales on cruiser bikes at walmart, kmart, etc.
