Rode my bike to go camping. Got stuck but got where i was goin'

All was well till i got on clay/dirt roads. On the curves, the road turned to real soft sand and i had to go slow so i wouldn't get thrown off cuz the soft sand kept jerkin' my front wheel left and right. lol I got to a point on a curve that was on a hill where the road turned into straight soft sand and my engine couldnt power thru it. My grandpa was tailing me so i put my bike and trailer into the back and he took me the rest of the way. There were some big foot deep sand bogs further ahead that were being replaced with clay. I'm still sore from wrastling that bike around. Had a great time though. Used the engine as a brake when my brakes wouldn't do the job on steep hills. Pull in the clutch, let the weight of your bike carry ya down the hill a few feet, slowly let out the clutch till the pistion tops out and stops ya. Worked great. Little 49cc pulled up the hills great. Only had to pedal to help the motor once or twice. Didn't get any pics. Had to pay attention to the road going up and down hills having to slow down on blind curves. :)
Heres some pics of how dirty my bike was after i got back home the next day.

The dirt got so deep it was over my rim as you can see by the dirt left on my rim.

Yeah. I had a 49cc china girl and a 33.5 friction drive. I only used the china on this trip. To break it quicker. lol For a brand new engine, she opens up very nicely and hauls a 30+lb full trailer effortlessly.
 
Friction for cuising, chain drive for hp. Chain drive can take off roading with ease. Friction, not so...
 
I like the 2 engine idea.

Maybe I should put my CG back on, and if it breaks down, I can use the FD!

If they both break down, you still have the pedals too! :)

(Maybe I should put in an electric hub too, just in case! rotfl )

Does the extra weight give you any problems?

When i run the china girl, the extra weight is no problem. When i run the friction drive, i have to pedal to get it up to speed. Then it'll hold that speed.
