The rear shifter on my '93 GT Talera has quit. I'm going to replace both shifters as a set. They were the originals, Shimano Altus.
Looking around there seem to be 3 affordable choices in the $25 - $35 range. If you are familiar with any of these and have an opinion on quality and durability I'd like to hear it.
1: Shimano Deore SIS 7-speed Shifter set.
2: Shimano STX/Alivio MC-40 7 speed Rapidfire Plus.
3: SRAM TRX Shifter Set, 7 Speed Trigger, w/ Cables - Compatable with Shimano.
All of the sets are new, I assume NOS. I don't have any idea what years these would have been the new model. If you know how old they are and which is best, please give me your reply.
