Ive been looking for an original build and I think I have my eyes set on something interesting tell me what you guys think.

I'm aware of the legal implications and will be looking into that very shortly but wouldn't it be cool to see something like this cruising down the road?

Of course it would be highly modified and highly muffled so to make it as nonoffensive as possible...

Time to start collecting parts!

I'm pretty sure in California the law is as long as it has pedals it's considered a bicycle. We shall see.

The majority of states define a bicycle as having 2 or 3 wheels, pedals, and a seat. There are a few states which do allow quadricycles on their public roadways. In some places these vehicles are limited to certain communities similar to rules that apply to golf carts. You just need to look up what's acceptable in your area before investing time and money. I'll go as far to say an electric will be more tolerated than a gas build.

I just came back from my buddies house and he gave me a front and back axel WITH a motor and drive chain already attached. It has one of those little chains on it like on a fullsize razor scooter, I wonder if it would be enough to push a 200 lbs vehicle and me... The axel is almost 4 feet long and the motor is about the size of a rugby football but just a bit longer... I think... I will post pics when I get it home. I don't know if it's going to work for this project but it has like 12 in wheels on it so it's not going to put me up high enough I don't think but I could make a little personal racer out of it.

You know if I hadn't given that starmy Archer shifting back hub to my bro I could make the quad bike shiftable... But for sure a jackshaft will be incorporated.

Off topic: did you know that a lot of the adult tricycles they make are just bicycle frames bolted onto a rear end? I didn't..l learn something new everyday!.

In California, motorized pedal-powered vehicles are broadly classified as either motorized bicycles or mopeds, and the California DMV considers them to be under the broader category of motor-driven cycles. A moped, or motorized bicycle, is defined as a two or three-wheeled device capable of up to 30 mph, with fully operable pedals for human propulsion or no pedals if powered solely by electricity, a motor producing less than 4 gross brake horsepower, and an automatic transmission. If a motorized bicycle falls under this definition, it must be licensed and registered with the DMV.

Man why does everybody have to pee on my parade...

This is petroleum prejudice I tell ya! Freakin tree huggers...

Lol

I'm still going to build one, I have places I can drive it.

I want to build one similar to the Henry Ford model. Maybe scaled down to a china doll motor, which probly wouldn't be much... The motor on the Henry Ford looks like it's just maybe a bit bigger than what we use. I just look close at that Henry Ford that's a steam engine on the back of that thing... That's crazy you must be sitting on top of the firebox when you ride on that thing.

Imagine wrecking that... Steam bath anyone?

I scored 4 wheelchair wheels today... I hope those 2 crippled people will be able to crawl to help... JUST KIDDING JUST KIDDING!!!

A GIRLFRIEND OF MINE THAT DOES HOSPICE GAVE THEM TO ME BECAUSE THE SEATS WERE TORN ON THEM...

Please God don't let me go to **** for that joke...

The wheelchair Wheels set up high enough to make a replica that I'm looking to make.
