Had failures with several pull starters both standard and HD.
This is the repair that worked for me.
1. Had plastic pawl fail.
Made one out of steel.
2. Had post failures in including breaking off completely.
Replaced it with a steel post and backer plate.
This has worked out well for me. I realize that their are other weak points in these pull starts.
I keep a spare one on hand but didn't want to install another one with the same weakness.
