Puch Hi Hi Head from treatland.

I want to know some advice here before asking for a return.

I bought a Puch Hi Hi 70cc head from treatland and it have a lot of porosity on
it . Looks like the metal was not a good quality .

I can put a thumbtack into a HOLES lol I don't think it's a sign of quality.

hello, send on over a photo and i will check it out. they do often have some small pits in the machining which are totally cosmetic. thanks! benji

It's seem to be a porosity in the metal.
Their are kind of small holes.

I don't think it's cosmetic problem.

hey there, yes that is within the range of normal. thanks for checking! realistically it will fill with carbon in the first 20 miles on most bikes.

I think it's a poor metal quality it's not supposed to be like that.

I can put a thumbtack into a hole.

If the metal quality is poor I can broke my cylinder with this head.

I ordered 2 heads from treatland, One was particarly bad with porosity bubbles, luckily it came with a Brocken fin also and they sent a new one.
The other 2 heads both have porosity bubbles, but none that caused a problem.
These are rather poor castings, I guess you get what you pay for.
With postage a Fred head was out of my budget.
A couple of small bubbles will unlikely make much difference.
 
You don't want holes or bubbles on the underside of the head, carbon will collect there & create a hotspot, leading to predetonation, knock & ping (sounds like BB's bouncing around inside it) and damage the motor. Its for this reason I polish the piston crown & combustion chamber of my engine. There are many that say its unnessisary, but with the high compression I run (140PSI) on 91 pump gas, every bit helps.
