Protecting the frame?

I heard this somewhere on here before, but can't seem to find it.

Lights and other bicycle attachments have rubber on them to protect the frame or handlebars from scratching.

What can we put underneath the engine mounts, tank mounts, etc to protect the frame or even reduce vibration perhaps?

A thin layer of vinyl electrical tape between those areas and your paint will help to protect somewhat. Over time even this method might not prove 100% effective. For the fuel tank you can use double sided tape to help hold the tank in place along with the brackets. I like the thicker cushioned type, others prefer the thin stuff.

Do not try to eliminate vibration with rubber in the engine mounts. Research and read in the 'mounting' section to see what others have done. Mount the engine as solid as possible with no gaps in the mounting surfaces. Again, a very thin layer of vinyl tape might help to preserve the paint but no guarantees.
