Peugeot 103 motor help

I have the motor from an old Peugeot 103 and would like to mount it under a suspension bike. The problem is, it is a pedal start motor. Any ideas how I can make this work? I'd like to get rid of the pedals and use the crank for a jack shaft and use the rear derailer for hill climbing and speed.

This is not my motor, but this is what it looks like. This is about what my bike looks like. The motor is a 49cc 2 stroke.
