I re-found some old Popular mechanics I had boxed up in the basement. I thought some of you might get a chuckle. These 4 are from Sept 1947

I tried to get them in one post but it wouldn't let me. This series was Popular Mechanics December 1947. Apparently scooters and motor bikes were in their hayday. It took me a few hours to get these scanned, edited and posted so I hope someone besides me finds them amusing lol.

Thanks, Rupp. Those are all a piece of history that many will enjoy. I was born the year those photos were published.
'Cushman' comes to mind when I look at those scooters. I remember my very first ride on one. The owner, a friend of my dad's stood me in front of him and the seat. Everytime he would apply the brakes it would mash my fingers because I was holding onto the handlebars right where the brake lever was. I was probably about five or six years old. And that was a long, long time ago :)
Thanks for sharing your find with us.
Tom
