Hello to all! The title pretty much says it all! Has anyone had this problem before? Its getting quite troublesome because the oil drips onto my muffler and makes smoke when it is sitting in one place idling.
We ask that you tell us what engine you have. It makes troubleshooting a lot easier.
If we're talking about Chinese 2 stroke engine and you have oil inside the magneto housing then you have a bad crankshaft seal. You'll need to remove the magneto rotor (magnet) from the crankshaft to gain access to the seal. Mark the magnet so you put it back exactly how it came off and order a new seal from one of the sponsors here on the forum.
Here's a lot of reading on replacing the seals. http://www.google.com/cse?cx=partne...acing magneto side crankshaft seal&gsc.page=1
It's really an easy task. Just follow some of the advice available. Lube the new seal and the crank before installing and make sure the new seal is driven in straight and flush with the case.
Good luck.
