Maybe this is academic but don't all the cdi units regardless of manufacture use only the positive wave of the generated. AC current?
Wouldn't it be possible to isolate the wasted negative wave and use it without affecting the ignition?
What do you think would be needed to do thhis?
Would one have to treat the ground wire as the "hot" lead?
