Motorized Bicycle Problem?

Hi Everyone,
i'm zoraman33 and i have a question i really need an answer to.
i have a 49cc motorized bicycle and when i pedal and start it then slow down , the engine stops.
is there an adjustment or is it like that?
or do i have to press the clutch everytime:S

you will need to pull the clutch every time...
otherwise, the engine will bog down and stall
depressing the lever will release the power going to the back wheel allowing the wheel to stop while the engine will still run
