Motor mount alignment?

How do you align the motor for proper chain operation?
have a used Skyhawk stage 2 motor with a mount kit
I bought on ebay. The motor wounldn't even fit in the frame
with the mount kit mounting holes, I had to drill some extra holes
for it to fit. Now the chain comes off so I must not have it
aligned right. Thinking maybe I'll just make a plywood mount
with some angle brackets and u bolts.

any suggestions?

Can you post a picture of what you mean?

Don't even think of plywood. It will not work. Post a picture of your build so we can help.

I fixed it. Used a piece of 3/4 inch plywood mounted on top of the
other motor mount and turned slightly to align the chain properly.
