motor dies on half and no choke

i have a two stroke weed eater motor it was no running when i got it i put new gas lines a spark plug and a bulb and it started right up

but now it will on stay on in full choke but dies on half and no choke

what might be the problem

Let it warm up and then step down to half, if after a few minutes it still wont run, you'll need to turn the low speed mixture screw to make it richer.
