Hello everyone
Running a PK80, 40 stroke, short connecting rod, low wrist pin piston, with a 6cc FredHead clone and a CDHPower G2 4 peddle reed valve/windowed piston. I currently have a Dellorto Clone(RT)Carb. It seems to run pretty good but damn, it really has trouble moving into low idle, sometimes I have to slowly engage the clutch slightly just to get it to slow down. I was thinking of upgrading my carb. I was looking at the Mikuni VM but interested in what you guys think of this carb or if you would recommend a different one to use with this set up?

Mikuni's are great carbs. The vm is simple to tune, and rarely have any problems. Except they're really sensitive to dirt clogging the float needle, but run a fuel filter and it's no worries.
Well, I always run a fuel filter, do you usually have to change the jet? Do you think it would be much different than the carb I'm currently using?

I've never had the clone carb, so I couldn't tell you. I stay away from clones, and get the real deal, just because I figure, y'know, they've gotta be better.

You'll probably have to tune it and/or jet it to your motor, but it's not difficult.

I just got a 19mm polini cp carb to replace my 16mm vm for my Minarelli bike, and I'm going to do some porting and other upgrades. The polini is a beautiful carb, but I don't know how well it works yet.
