Micargi bikes ?

while looking around for traditional bikes to build a vintage styled one on , i came across Micargi stretched beach cruisers , interested i looked at some reviews of Micargi bikes and they were all pretty bad , are these bikes really that crappy ? will i have to buy a felt revolver and stick a worksman cycles springer front end on it ?

I have heard/read that the frames had cracking probs, and the components are not that great (wheels, bearings...etc)
but, with better wheels and new bearings for the crank and headset with lots of grease, I have almost 9500 miles on my stretch (Mustang GTS)

i guess that means i will buy some heavy duty wheels and keep a check on the frame welds .
