Metropolis Patterson on a Motorized Bicycle?

I've recently come across FSA's Metropolis Patterson two-speed crankset, and immediately wondered if anybody had successfully used one on a motorized bicycle. Here's a link to a review; anybody?

This would have to be used in conjunction with a shift kit, correct?

No, you wouldn't need a shift kit... It replaces the front sprocket setup, whereas the shift kit allows you to shift using the rear derailleur. From what I can tell, these two gears would work when pedaling, but not with the engine.
