Hi folks,
I'm new here and I'm into early motorcycles in a big way. I'm looking to either build my own tribute (hopefully to an early Thor racing bike) or buy one somewhere in the Midwest. Maybe, JUST maybe I'll find my great grandad's in a barn someday.

Just build a tribute as best you can gunnar.
Thor motorcycles were made in Aurora Ill. A Tool and Die Maker I worked with named Ron Lundquist rode one pre-WWII. It was left in a ditch. Many were scrapped for the war effort.
I think if I were on the hunt for a Thor, I would sniff around in Indiana. Close to Illinois and most of the population are low earners that throw nothing away. Good luck.

I'm hoping to figure out a tribute. There's an exhaust for sale on eBay that I'll probably use. The engine, for me, will be a bit of a problem as I would want one that's similar to an original. Anyone know what kind of similar to original options I might have? Obviously I don't have the cash for an original Indian or Harley engine.
