Is it a good idea to do this?

so the other day, my muffler cap fell off while i was riding, the sound my engine was making sounded pretty gnarly, almost like a muscle car with that deep rumble. i went back and screwed the cap back on and kept going on my adventure. i was wondering if its a good idea to leave the cap off...

When mine fell off, the engine got really loud, made less power and started four stroking.

The low end torque fell off too.

So yeah, if you want a loud motor that runs like crap...

Get an expansion pipe if you want performance with your sound.

I brazed mine on so it will never fall off. If it lasts long enough to load the now sealed muffler with carbon, I will get the SBP pipe because I can't clean it out now.
