How to get more air through my air filter

Hi there im trying to get more air into my 4 stroke 49cc engine, im looking at the air filter on my engine is there any way I can get more air to go into it, and also if theres any other mods I can do to it to get more peformace out of my engine that dosn't increase the noise can you please tell me.

you could always drill a few holes through the plastic cover to increase some of the airflow

Thanks but if I drill holes through the cover do I have to increase the amount of fuel that goes into the engine.

Just get a after market filter,its not worth the time playing with a standard one,Holes make little difrence

i beg to differ i think they look realy cool jk drilling holes is a good place to start though i would visit afordable go karts they have all the info you are looking for includeing any parts you may want i plan on getting their air filter one day to .

karma,,,don't forget the little breather filter as well,,,,the added cost of that was why I went with the SickBike filter


btw,,,I did try AGK's idea of drilling the stock plastic housing,,,it helped enough for me to decide to get an upgrade

Those UNI filters are great. We used to use them on Stella (Vespa) scooters. They really let the air through.
